For the record, who's answering the interview, what is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
KOLLAPSE
I'm Thomas, bass player of kollapse. The name kollapse came from the band Breach from Sweden which we love. And it describes our socio economic and cultural climate in the western world quite well.

ATP
So who's in the band and what's everyone's life story in 100 words more or less?
KOLLAPSE
Troels, Peter and myself. We are friends and music fans.

ATP
In a nutshell, please describe your sound.
KOLLAPSE
Intense, sometimes angry, honest, fast, slow, loud.

ATP
Why did you each of you start playing music and was there a turning point from becoming the dream child that every mother and father hopes their child will become before discovering music? Why did music become a career choice for you?
KOLLAPSE
This is not a career. The three of us have always been into emoting through music with various bands. What we have in common is passion for d.i.y and outsider music. Our parents support us fine. We are all well into our twentys and thirties so we really don't think about this too much.

ATP
What instruments do you each play? How did you learn to play, self-taught or school?
KOLLAPSE
Troels: singer and guitarist. Peter: drums. Thomas: bass and vocals. We are all self taught - as I said, we grew up playing punk rock or heavy music, so it is basically a case of learning as you go along. Which is often the best way of learning anything anyway. It's okay to do it "wrong".

ATP
What bands have influenced each of you?
KOLLAPSE
I can only answer for myself here, but bands like the Unsane, His Hero is Gone, Neurosis. But i get inspired from alot of things: people, art, bad times and good times. We all have fairly broad musical tastes I think. I love the ethos of free jazz where it seems like anything goes and it is more about a certain feeling and an emotional statement, as opposed to a big emphasis on technique.

ATP
What makes your band unique?
KOLLAPSE
I guess we do our own thing.

ATP
Do you write your own music? If not, who writes the music?
KOLLAPSE
Yea...we do.

ATP
What inspires the songs you write?
KOLLAPSE
Life, love, death, hate, discontent. Feeling out of place. Things ending. Your basic fare haha.

ATP
How long does it take you to write a song that’s ready to record?
KOLLAPSE
It depends, we are fairly fast when we get to it. It depends on how much we rehearse, if we have an album coming out, gigs and so on. We have just written a new song for a release, it took us about two or three days.

ATP
How would you describe your local music scene? Likes, Dislikes. What would you change?
KOLLAPSE
Our local scene is pretty weak when it comes to heavy/punk/noise...we have about a handful of bands that are any good.

ATP
What is your favorite local venue? Why?
KOLLAPSE
1000 fryd...no doubt. They have a good stage and a good sound. Every band should go there if they want to tour.

ATP
What's the biggest problem you find when working with other bands, booking agents, promoters and venues when settting up a show or a tour?
KOLLAPSE
We have a good support system because of Troels who has played all over Europe. No complaints from us.

ATP
How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
KOLLAPSE
We have played quite alot of shows in a short time, but we are definitely not veterans by a long shot.
