STONE CADAVER was formed in 2013 by three guys in their 30s, who wanted to slow things down a bit and substitute the ferocious blast beats of modern thrash for the raw, overdriven grooviness of 70s hard rock and early heavy metal. Combined with other elements such as doom metal, STONE CADAVER has managed to concoct a stoner rock sound that lies somewhere between Kyuss, Electric Wizard and Ozzy-era Black Sabbath. Although STONE CADAVER could be said to fall in the metal category, it is also one of those bands that is difficult to neatly pigeonhole. As such, STONE CADAVER is a one-of-a-kind on the Danish stoner rock scene because the band manages to mix old and new sounds where most of their Danish brethren tend to confine themselves to either or.

The debut EP E.P. (or Excessive Punishment as some are wont to call it) was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Anders Haeg and STONE CADAVER at Haeg's home studio, The Cavern, in November 2014 in a few days. The EP attempts to capture the raw live sound of the band and was recorded live with only a few overdubs in post production. It is available for free on Bandcamp.

Currently, STONE CADAVER is in the process of landing a slew of gigs for 2015 and working to get financial backing for a darker, groovier and heavier full-length follow-up to E.P. , which will be recorded using only analogue equip.
