Paralysis was born immediately after Jon heard "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne blaring through the speakers of a football stadium in a YouTube video he watched. He discovered how much he loved heavy metal, and then he realized from that point on that music was what he truly wanted to do with his life. Coming from a life full of constant struggle, he planted the seeds for Paralysis in October 2010 with original guitarist Jon Barrett as they jammed in Plemenik's basement by playing cover songs night after night repeatedly. Honing their skills by playing numerous talent shows in their hometown and after a couple of line-up changes, Plemenik has found what would become the core of the band: members Rhett Mattson and Jeremy Grosenstein.

Once the core of the Paralysis line-up came together, they started playing open-mic nights at their local music center every Tuesday night and some showcases as well. After continuously playing on that stage, they managed to become better and then realized that playing thrash metal was what they wanted to do. In December 2012, Jon Barrett decided to part ways with Paralysis for personal reasons. They found themselves cycling through different bass players or playing without a bass player for a long time.

Then, in April 2013 Plemenik and Mattson met future manager Nick Mimikos at an Anthrax concert in New York City. This would eventually pave the way for Paralysis to break out of the Long Valley scene. In May 2013, Plemenik felt that the rug was dragged out from beneath his feet as The Studio at Long Valley closed down. After that has happened, Mimikos gave Plemenik a bunch of promoters' contract information, and then they set up Paralysis's first show outside of Long Valley. This show was opening for 40 Below Summer on June 29th, 2013 at The Championship Bar and Grill in Trenton, NJ. From that point on, Plemenik and the rest of the band was really excited about the future and began to see Paralysis as a serious band.

From that point on, Paralysis has become a significant live performance force in the New Jersey scene because they continued to play so many shows throughout 2013 and beyond. Through 2013 and Early 2014, they had a few problems with bass players. In August 2013, Charlie Hudzik joined the band and has remained ever since. Throughout more of Paralysis's experiences, they managed to open up for bigger national bands such as 40 Below Summer, Diecast, Toxic Holocaust, Generation Kill, Exmortus, Lich King, Blood Feast, Vektor, Thrash Or Die, Artillery, Onslaught, Soulfly, Morbid Saint, D.R.I., Raven, Razor, Morbid Saint, The Crumbsuckers, Warbringer, Enforcer, Cauldron, Whiplash, and Toxik. As of right now, Paralysis still continues to remain active by playing numerous live shows every month and released their first studio EP named No Turning Back in June 2014.

In October 2014, long-time drummer Jeremy Grosenstein and Paralysis came to a mutal agreement that it would be in the best interest of both parties if he exited the band. As a result, Nick Musto from Long Valley, New Jersey and a friend of the band has joined the band as the permanent drummer. Long-time lead guitarist Rhett Mattson would also exit the band in July 2015 in order to focus on his own personal life as Paralysis looks to the future, which includes a rerecorded version of the No Turning Back EP that came out in August 2015 and a new EP coming out in Early Autumn 2015. Looking to 2016, the band is ready to conquer the world by touring in order to promote the release of the two EPs. The band has only just got started and there's much more to come!
