Denzel Washington Convinces Rapper to Go On Spiritual Journey

WYLDTHANG, member of the rap collective Desprado has set out on a 52 week rap challenge after being convinced to do so by Denzel Washington. Denzel was talking at an engagement and he mentioned how God gives each one of us gifts. he says, But when you use your gifts thats your gift to God. I had never heard it stated quite like that, and in that second I instantly knew what I had to do.

WYLDTHANG had previously compiled a secret stash of what he calls tiny tunes, which are songs that are 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds long. I have a lot of friends that have A.D.D or at least act like it. he states, They have extremely short attention spans so I wanted to make something for them that was straight to the point.

The tiny tunes topics WYLDTHANG is cranking out weekly range from the typical (money,cars,clothes) to the taboo ( love,life,happiness).

I remember Denzel saying, As you begin to share your talents and gifts with the world, you begin to learn trully who you really are. I thought about that for a while. he reflects, After I realized I would be doing the 52 week rap challenge I wondered what would I Iearn about myself that I didn t already know?

Each week requires WYLDTHANG to talk about something something different and by doing this he is gradually peeling back the layers to who he is as both a person and artist. The music is literally moving so fast he can t stop to think if he wants to reveal this or reveal that and in doing so he is seeing a true picture of himself.

Man, I just try to stay focus and give something fresh and unique each time. he says, Sometimes I amaze myself.

WYLDTHANG has performed alongside legends like Scarface and Juvenile and was recently featured in the Dallas Music Festival and the Legends of Hip Hop Tour.

Currently he is working on his debut studio album RIZE which will be distributed by Desprado Entertainment and the lead single from the project is called Good-Good and features female rap artist Shawnna (DTP/Def Jam).
