The hard-driving three-piece band Trez Maschine has
progressive elements of rock and punk with melodic overtones.
Their songwriting skills as a band clearly demonstrate
their musicianship on a professional level. While possible
to pinpoint elements reminiscent of influential bands
like Primus, Oingo Boingo, Rush, King Crimson or Mr.
Bungle, the band is uniquely their own and flawlessly
crosses boundaries in each and every song.
Trez Maschine is fronted by veteran guitarist and vocalist
Gorden Mack, previously of the San Francisco band Red
House Painters, who plays through a unique stereo guitar
system with a careful selection of delays and reverbs
with paralleled guitar synthesizers, creating a larger
than life sound. His vocals, reminiscent of Pete Townsend.
at times climbing from melodic valleys to raspy peaks,
adding more dynamics to Trez Maschine s sound.
Mack s guitar and vocals are backed by rhythm section
Brian Kenney on bass and harmony / lead vocals with
percussionist Rick Smyth. Kenney pounds out bass tones
through a dizzying array of effects giving Trez Maschine
s sound added depth and tonal range. Kenney s rhythmic
vocal style provides counter-punch to the songs melodies.
Smyth s solid, heavy, kick drum rhythms, and consistent,
unassuming style drive Trez Maschine s songs over the
top. Trez Maschine is a band that should not be overlooked,
they are truly a unique and beautiful band.
