I have two radio shows; 80sGasm (on hiatus) and RockGasms.
In my opinion, any music that makes you feel good should simultaneously make you feel orgasmic. I love music from many decades, though my favorite era were the 1980's. 80's Music + Orgasm = 80sGasm.
A few months after I launched 80sGasm, I decided I wanted to do a show spanning the 70's, 80's and 90's focusing on classic rock, hard rock and metal; however, 70s80s90sGasm just didn't have quite the same ring to it, and so RockGasms was born (to keep with my 'Gasms' brand).
Very simply, RockGasms features classic rock, hard rock and metal from the 70's, 80's and 90's, with a smattering of shenanigans acting as the glue that ties one talking point and song to the next.
My friend, John Bisaha (lead vocalist of The Babys) just came on board on February 15, 2015, and will be my co-host on many select shows. John and I first “met” one another this past June when I interviewed him for 80sGasm. I think we both sensed from the moment we spoke that we were one another's “shenanigizing soulmates”, and over the course of the past several months we continued our friendship and soon realized our personalities scarily jived. We play off of each others quick wit, humor and sarcasm, and though we'd do well co-hosting RockGasms together. The feedback has been fantastic from listeners, and I am honored to have someone as talented as John join me for the ride.
I also invite musicians from the decades I specialist in on for an in-depth interview. Previous guests have included Phil Collen (Def Leppard), Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Rachel Bolan (Skid Row), Terry Ilous (Great White), Randy Rand (Autograph), Mike Tramp (White Lion), etc.
What set my interviews apart is that we have conversations from the heart.
I also live by the policy that I never insult or “go off on” ANY musician on my show. My show is a time to celebrate music and walk down memory lane, with laughs that you sometimes expect, but most times do not.
RockGasms also has featured segments:
Plug-In is a 20 minute spotlight reserved for one independent/unsigned band per week where I discuss the band's background, as well as playing 3 of their songs between talking points; which include plugging their social media sites, online merch stores, management, etc. On occasion, I will also interview the spotlighted band (time allowing).
Daniel Lord contributes his 5-7 minute segment to my show on select weeks, which is called Dan's Deep Cuts, where he unearths a rock song (i.e. deep cut) and gives background on the song and artist.
The Swiffer Sisters PSA is a 2 minute segment that my friend Jro and I do- which covers one odd topic each week that most people can relate to; i.e. psychotic roommates to delusional ninnies to sex trolls- one thing's for sure- The Swiffer Sisters will always be at the ready with our WetJets to clean up the messes the grimy, slimy and sublimey leave behind each week during the SSPSA.
I am always brainstorming new, fun segments, and will be making a big announcement very soon regarding a brand new segment!
RockGasms launched on Sept. 27, 2013 (approx. 16 months)
I want to push my show as far as it can go, and, for me, that means finding a large syndication company to market it to the major terrestrial markets and Sirius XM Radio. At present time, I have 3 companies in discussions with me about this kind of deal as I write my answers to you. If all goes well, my life will be completely different (in an amazing way).
Should a deal come through, I envision my beautiful daughter and I moving to a state where it never snows and being very happy while living comfortably.
I prefer to use the term “friends” or “fans of the music”. I'd like to tell them this show isn't about me- it's about the music first and foremost. In addition, my hope each week is that for 2 hours the listeners can just sit back, enjoy, have some good laughs and not feel stressed out. For the listeners who've tuned in from the beginning, as well as others who've joined us along the way- I send them all my gratitude, peace and love.
Thank you for being a part of my journey.
