Q15 Most people will never know what it feels like to be on stage in front of a crowd, what does that feel like?
It is the most awesome feeling in the world when your fiercely into your music and the crowd is digging it.
Q16 Describe your typical stage show performance. What might we expect at your show and why we should go?
Energy and passion are our two most important goals at shows. At the end of the show we are all drenched in sweat from putting every ounce of energy into performing our music. We also like making people dance and feel very comfortable. There shouldn't be one person at our show who isn't engaged. We try to engage everyone with jokes, banter, and eye contact.
Q17 Tell us about your most memorable gig and why it was so great?
Our first gig together as YFX was the best so far because it was a going away party for our band manager/roommate. We invited all our friends to this cozy mom and pop vegan restaurant and everybody loved the performance.
Q18 Tell us about your worst gig and why it was so bad?
We had an issue of getting warm during our earlier shows. It would take us half of the set to feel fully comfortable. I think the issue was nerves. Now we make it a priority to blast off each gig with a very energetic first song that carries over to the rest of the set.
Q19 Tell Us About Your Dream Gig, who youd like to play with, where?
Our dream so far is to play at the Fox Theater in Oakland. The capacity is 5,000. We'd love to open.
Q20 Do you believe commercial/mainstream music has had a negative effect on new music, why or why not?
Yes and no. Yes because it pushes music to become as catchy as possible with new sounds and effects around every rhythm and chorus. No because even catchy music can be extremely fun to listen to.
Q21 Has the internet really been helpful to your promotion, why or why not?
It has allowed us to share our music and promote the band.
Q22 Can you name a few of your favorite places on the web for band promotions?
The artist did not answer.
Q23 Do you have a website, tell us about it?
We have a Facebook website. www.facebook.com/YFXmusic It is very basic right now. We need to update it and add more cool stuff like pictures and videos.
Q24 Do you have a street team and how can you join?
We are working on it. The best thing to do is like us on face book. The dream would be to have free merchandise like stickers, cds, shirts for our street team to pass out.
Q25 Are you looking to get a record deal, why or why not?
That would be amazing and a dream come true. We are also realistic. There are a gazillion other bands out there (talented and not talented). It's very hard to get noticed. We are just very happy to play at local venues and club/parties.
Q26 What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
We are very close to finishing our first album. We'd like to write a few more. In a year our goal is to open for national traveling acts. In two years our goal is to travel and the nation and tour. Five years is a long time away, but it would be amazing to have our music on the radio. For the moment, we are focused on writing, perfecting our instruments, and gigging locally.
Q27 Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
It's a great site to collaborate with fans and other musicians. I'd love to see it expand and take off.
