What began as an 13 piece experimental orchestral project in 2006, got the attention of MTVU, films and TV ads, grew to a 25 piece collective by 2010, has now consolidated to a focused 7-piece acoustic pop orchestra in 2012. The Noise Revival Orchestra released their 3rd EP, Songs of Forgiveness, in July of 2011. Before its US release, TNRO toured 4 countries in Europe to promote and pre-sell Songs of Forgiveness. During their tour to Denmark, Iceland, UK, & the Faroe Islands, TNRO launched a new website featuring the brand new EP, new videos, and a tour video blog. The first single that was released for the tour, Dance the Night Away, was co-written with Danish pop writer Peter Smith.
In summer of 2012, TNRO embarked on a tour of China, visiting six cities including Shanghai and Beijing. The tour marked a new era for the group and plans to further foster the Austin-China collective are in the works.
Upon TNRO’s return to Austin, plans for a US release are in the works as well as recording for their 4th EP that will feature songs co-written from artists from the countries they visit on their tour, and recording for music for the feature narrative film from Andrew Shapter, Teller & the Truth.
