Q15 Most people will never know what it feels like to be on stage in front of a crowd, what does that feel like?
Its hard to describe, but everyone should try performing something in front of people at least once in their lives. Its usually a great feeling, unless its a crappy performance.
Q16 Describe your typical stage show performance. What might we expect at your show and why we should go?
A shit ton of tight energy with some humor mixed in.
Q17 Tell us about your most memorable gig and why it was so great?
My favorite was my second show with the band. We played a show in Philadelphia that only two people went to. I had so much fun, loved the other bands that played, and got paid in pretzels at the end of the night. I also dragged the guys to the Liberty Bell the next day.
Q18 Tell us about your worst gig and why it was so bad?
We once passed up a show with one of my favorite bands because we had already agreed to play another show with about 15 bands. No one besides our girlfriends and a few other bands went (most of the bands didn't show up), so it was a bit disappointing, but I played wearing an inflatable bull costume (it was a Halloween show), so it wasn't all that bad. I usually manage to have fun at all our shows.
Q19 Tell Us About Your Dream Gig, who youd like to play with, where?
I'd love to play with The Descendents, with the Bouncing Souls being a close second.
Q20 Do you believe commercial/mainstream music has had a negative effect on new music, why or why not?
Mainstream music will always be cookie cutter. Then a unique artist will come out of nowhere, followed by tons of copycats that aren't as good. I don't think it has a negative effect on anything, though it bums me out that people don't research the genre of music they like and just let the radio tell them who their favorite bands should be.
Q21 Has the internet really been helpful to your promotion, why or why not?
The internet is a great way to promote because people don't leave their computers most of the time.
Q22 Can you name a few of your favorite places on the web for band promotions?
I read www.punknews.org, www.lambgoat.com and www.decoymusic.com for news on bands I like and to learn about new bands. Facebook is always good as well. I like Band Camp and Reverb Nation is okay. I also have my own webzine, www.theplaylist.net, that you can check out. I am new to Arm the Pit, but
Q23 Do you have a website, tell us about it?
www.themcgunks.com takes you to our Reverb Nation page. We are also on Facebook and Band Camp.
Q24 Do you have a street team and how can you join?
We don't currently have a street team, as far as I know.
Q25 Are you looking to get a record deal, why or why not?
If a label is interested, we will speak with them. If not, we're happy with the way things are.
Q26 What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
Keep playing and having fun.
Q27 Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
I'm new to Arm the Pit, but it seems like a great way to learn about new bands and I hope it helps spread The McGunks to even more people. Thank you.
