Q1 For the record, who's answering the interview, what is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
This is P-Tro LIVE and direct from the EllmatiQ Compound!!! The Label is ELLMATIQ (eLL-MaT- iK) Records and the Band names on the label is P-tro and The Beatnicks.
Q2 So who's in the band and what's everyone's life story in 100 words more or less?
Ellmatiq Records consists of 2 different groups which are Officially signed to EllmatiQ Records: P-Tro and The Beatnicks. In association with GrownKidz Ent. And Dark Reign out of Omaha, NE. I myself (P-tro) am based out of LaVista, NE which is a Suburb of Omaha. I started music in 2006 and the fact that it has come so far since then is somewhat of a dream inside of itself. The Beatnicks reside in Creston, IA and the dedication they have for theyre music is one of the most inspirational ive seen! You can find all of the Grown Kids right in the heart of Omaha.
Q3 In a nutshell, please describe your sound.
Raw, Rough, Underground style! Very REAL! We put on LIVE shows that I believe surpass anybodys idea of real talent and skill. The shows go insane and we DEF bring the RUCKUS everytime!
Q4 Why did you each of you start playing music and was there a turning point from becoming the dream child that every mother and father hopes their child will become before discovering music? Why did music become a career choice for you?
Music to me has always been important. As soon as I realized what kind of voice you can have in such a community, it inspired me to set forth with a message of indefinite proportions! My main goal behind our music is to just be heard. We have a message for the world!
Q5 What instruments do you each play? How did you learn to play, self-taught or school?
No instruments, just the voices we use to cause RUCKUS!!!
Q6 What bands have influenced each of you?
POTLUCK, AFROMAN, TQ, SKIDROW, SUM 41, EAZY E, E-40, BONE THUGS.
Q7 What makes your band unique?
I believe in myself, my label, and my talent. I believe that right there separates me from most. In order to be successful it all comes down to being true to yourself and those around you. Music is something that you can use to express the way you feel. Music is your way of interacting with those who sometimes don’t listen when you talk. I believe I am unique in that my music is something for everybody in this world! Our LIVE Shows go insane! The amount of dedication and love that surrounds this label is what I believe separates us from others. I have NEVER seen the amount of respect, skill, talent, and mindset ANYWHERE Else! I am truly lucky to be working with the people that I call my “EllmatiQ Family”. We work hard, and we push it to the limit every single day in order to gain the level of achievement that we believe is success, and WE KEEP IT REAL 420%!!!

We all write, record, mix, and master all of our own tracks.

OMG the local music scene in Omaha, NE is THEE absolute BEST music scene I have ever been part of. Being in music we constantly travel to different cities and states. And let me tell you, the amount of TALENT and Respect that comes with Omaha Local Music is UNREAL! There is so much support in this City and I do think people really do Sleep on Omaha Music. ANY national artist that has been to Omaha knows just exactly what I mean, they see it. Omaha actually came in #2 in the WORLD for one of the most growing places for music. Also #2 on up and comers, IN THE WORLD! Amazing city, take my word for it…If you’re an out of town artist then GET TO OMAHA and do a show. You will LOVE IT
Q12 What is your favorite local venue? Why?
THE HIDEOUT!!!! Our good friends and staff at the Hideout really know how to treat theyre local artists. So Supportive. They truly are the heart that hold Omaha Music where it is.
Q13 Whats the biggest problem you find when working with other bands, booking agents, promoters and venues when settting up a show or a tour?
I really haven’t had to many issues with the promoters we work with but I will tell you that if you are a promoter or booking agent you MUST be HUMBLE to EVERY artist that steps your way. Remember the artists don’t owe you ANYTHING so don’t treat them like they do. Be Humble, Not Lazy.
