Q1 For the record, who's answering the interview?
Jonathan Vanderbilt guitarist and vocals of Celtic Hills
Q2 What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
Some fans have asked the meaning of the name "CELTIC HILLS." In Italy, in the northeast of the country, the region is called Friuli. This name comes from the Forum Julii, a city founded by Julius Caesar. This portion is called the Friuli Collio (colli in Italian means hills). The ancient Romans arrived in Friuli in 283 bC when these territories were of Celtic peoples.
Jonathan Vanderbilt, passionate about archeology, writing at the University of Udine, has combined his passion for the Celtic people with music and inspired by the area where he lives, he decided to call the band with the name of the territory by adding the adjective Celtic. Immagginando so the green hills and large lawns as they were 2500 years ago, before the arrival of the Romans.
Q3 So who's in the band and what instruments do you each play?
The line up is: Jonathan Vanderbilt guitars and vocals, Davide Martina guitars and back vocals, Amos Venier bass guitar and back vocals, Il Gus drums and back vocals
Q4 How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?
I write all the songs (Jonathan) that are influenced by the band during the course of my artistic life have influenced me. Anthrax, Helloween, Amon Amarth. The rest of the band, much younger than me, listen to bands like Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Rammstein: the sound is a mixture of sounds that try to be strong, let's put something folk, but for the moment we have not yet published anything that has folk parts
Q5 What bands have influenced each of you?
David Martina listen Symphony X, Dream Theater, and other faster guitarists , Amos Venier listen to the old school thrash, Il Gus and I listen to just about anything, listen metal for 30 years from Motley Crue to Venom! I always looked at as guitarists Kai Hansen (Helloween and Gamma Ray) Manny Smith (RAGE) and Gary Moore
Q6 How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
As a band we have not done a lot of concerts! but each of us is a stage animal! We have personal experience of concerts played in other bands. I played as a support to opening very famous bands
Q7 How would you describe your shows?
Full of energy, a contact with the public, a way to have fun and give fun! We are not only the performers, we want to share our way of thinking, living and playing with everyone, even those with a concert if you will watch on DVD
Q8 Tell us about your favorite show and why?
I can say that better show has been.... .. not when technically things has gone well, but the one where it was more fun to play! I think a 4 days festival near our city, with so many friends (including other bands) under the stage
Q9 Tell us about your worst show and why?
You mean the Worsts ! We played some shows where the performance was below standard. Because there were technical problems that when you're on stage you can make a bit nervous. But as I said before .... we always have fun with us and the audience. We always try to move forward, if it happens that I have fever but I must to sing warn the public that I'm sick, I apologize if I'll have "embarrassing"moments, but I always offer the maximum
Q10 Tell Us About Your Dream Show, who you'd like to play with and where?
Who would not love to play in front of thousands of fans? The problem is ...that we haven't so many fans! However, the dream is to play at a big festival, with so many bands and so many people
Q11 Do you have a street team and how can you join?
we have something on ReverbNation. For the moment we have fans who write to us, to offer their little help as they can: We write to each one and we thank them offering merchandise, unreleased songs, alternative versions of the official
Q12 Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?
We released a CD with an independent Italian label. The first CD was self-produced. We're recording the new songs that are surely better than the previous work, when we get closer to the mix ... we'll see what we decide ....
Q13 What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
We have big dreams and work to achieve them. For every target we set an expiration date! the little things have small periods of time, it is logical to suppose the unexpected along the way, but we want to get to be an international band within five years!
Q14 Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
ATP offering this interview is helping us! will be an exchange of benefits, because we will always be grateful for this opportunity and we hope there will be a way and time to reciprocate the courtesy
