For the record, who's answering the interview?
SALEMS LOTT
Jett Black / Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals of Salems Lott

ATP
What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
SALEMS LOTT
Salems Lott. It's based off of the Salem witch trials in Massachusetts. I've always found the Witch Trials to be fascinating. A lot of people think it has to do with Stephen King. Wrong. What they don't realize is that the Stephen King novel is called 'Salem's Lot. Pay attention the the apostrophe before the "S". The book is actually short for Jerusalem's Lot.

ATP
How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?
SALEMS LOTT
We're not afraid to blend all of the sounds that we like. We're not limited by pre-conceived notions of music, or genres or style. If it sounds good, then it's going in. There's a lot of speed, melody, aggression, hooks etc.

ATP
What bands have influenced each of you?
SALEMS LOTT
There's really too many to list; from Michael Jackson all the way to Rosenfeld and everything in between.

ATP
How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
SALEMS LOTT
Perhaps a virgin who's popped her cherry a little while ago. We're new but we're always finding new ways to step up our game live. We haven't been fully used and abused yet, so you'll see that live we're still hungry and energetic rather than tired and loose.

ATP
How would you describe your shows?
SALEMS LOTT
Aggressive and energetic. We're not the type of band to stand still on stage. We move around, we perform, we express, we feel the music. Our show has something new each time and it's only getting bigger. If you are in the front row, you may get a little more than you bargained for. :)

ATP
Tell us about your favorite show and why?
SALEMS LOTT
Probably the House Of Blues show. Firstly, it was a big enough stage to actually perform and move. Also, we actually got a proper sound check which is rare depending on the venue and we brought our full show at the time. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. We were able to do our chainsaw sacrifice ritual and engage the audience.

ATP
Tell us about your worst show and why?
SALEMS LOTT
I won't name the venue so that they don't get butt-hurt. But there was no sound check, no line check. We literally played on stage deaf and nobody could hear each other. Overall, a piece of shit show that was not a proper representation of the band. But at the end of the day, a really good learning experience on what to avoid.

ATP
Tell Us About Your Dream Show, who you'd like to play with and where?
SALEMS LOTT
We'd like to play on our own. Headline some big fucking place and bring the most massive show on earth. A show that's huge but doesn't get disconnected from the audience. Something that retains that raw engagement and aggression of a club show but at a giant level.

ATP
Do you have a street team and how can you join?
SALEMS LOTT
We are gathering a some valiant members as we speak. The more the merrier. Email info@salemslott.com

ATP
Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?
SALEMS LOTT
Our material is released on our own record label. If we are looking for a label? We're all ears but it really depends on the offer.

ATP
What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
SALEMS LOTT
Start dominating the USA market. Isn't it about time a new young band from the US makes an impact here first and stops running away to tour dive bars in Japan or Europe? The US needs a serious unclogging of their shit filled toilet they call popular music. Enough rap, EDM or techno or house or whatever new minuscule mind-numbing revolution they're having in the electronic 'music' world, and enough of that tame-lame 'I'm talking lazily but somehow it's considered singing and the same fucking song is in every Apple commercial' style hipster folk rock. If you can't conquer your hometown you are pretty much fucked.

ATP
Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
SALEMS LOTT
The core, the grassroots of the music. The people who truly give a shit about all aspects of music regardless of current status and other deceiving notions of importance.
