What is the title of your new CD? How did you come up with the name?
PREZZENCE
Our new Cd title is Bottom To The Top. Bottom To The Top comes from the title track. It is a song I wrote about being out on the road and realizing that it's pretty much the same for the big name bands as it is for the bands that are struggling to be noticed. Life on the road is life on the road and some things don't change.

Is this your first CD and if not, how is this one different from the others?
PREZZENCE
Yes, this is our first full length CD. We previously released a 4 song Ep when we were a 4pc. band. We actually re-recorded two of those songs, Psychologic Suicide and Death Grip, for this CD. Overall, I would say that the new CD is a much better representation of the band because the other songs on the Ep were songs I had written prior to the formation of this band.

Did you write all the songs before going into the studio or did you write them as you were recording?
PREZZENCE
Everything was written before we entered the studio, but I Feel fine was very new and the actual feel came together in the studio.

Walk us thru the process of writing your music?
PREZZENCE
Kind of impossible to do. Sometimes, one of us will bring a riff to the table and we will run with it and add and subtract from it as a band and then I will put lyrics to it. Other times, I will bring lyrics in and we build the music around them. We don't really put ourselves in process box.

Where did you record and why?
PREZZENCE
We recorded our first two songs with Yanic Bercier at Wave Transform Studio in Knoxville, TN. He is great and has a fantastic studio. We were then offered full paid sponsorship by Bob Shelton at Jamup Studios in Greeneville, TN. This opportunity gave us a little more freedom in the recording and mixing process. Our guitarist, Taylor Freeman, took the reigns as our recording engineer. He handled the recording, mixing, and mastering. He did an outstanding job and was a true pro.

HHow did you pay for your recording?
PREZZENCE
Band profits, personal investment and sponsorship.

ATP
Did you have a producer or did you self-produce? If so, what kind of input did the producer have. If your self-produced, why?
PREZZENCE
We self-produced this CD. We wanted to make sure that our fans got the Prezzence on the CD that they get in a Prezzence show.

ATP
Did you try to capture your "live sound" or did you go for something else?
PREZZENCE
While we did the necessary production to put out a good record, we were VERY persistent in making sure that we didn't put out a product that we could not produce on stage. That was very important to us.

ATP
Did your record label have any input into the music you recorded?
PREZZENCE
We are unsigned, so we controlled all the decisions.

ATP
Are you pleased with the final product?
PREZZENCE
We are very pleased with the final product, but NEVER satisfied, LOL.
