Do you have a title for the upcoming cd?
FAR FROM SANITY
We do. It is called “The Kardia Complex”. The idea of heart (Kardia) is that it is the center of who we are ie: our inner spirit.

ATP
Is this your first CD and if not, how will this one be different from the others?
FAR FROM SANITY
This will be our third official CD. Far From Sanity released a CD before the original line up parted ways in 2006 called Anomia. The current line up released an EP in 2013 called The Lockdown. BUT…if all works out…this will be our first CD released on a record label.

ATP
Have you written all the songs or will you be writing them as you record?
FAR FROM SANITY
Most of our songs are written already. We are taking some of the older material and giving it a bit of a facelift and updated sound but we will also be writing a couple of them as we record the CD.

ATP
Walk us thru the process of writing your music?
FAR FROM SANITY
Our music is done mainly via a collaborative effort through everyone in the band. It will usually start with a drum beat or rhythm guitar riff. From there, we will add elements that accentuate the foundation through the lead guitar and build a firm song cadency with vocals.

ATP
Where will you be recording and why?
FAR FROM SANITY
We are tracking in Broken Arrow, OK at a studio called The Musician’s Lab. The largest reason is location and knowledge of our band. Our engineer/producer has been around this group since it’s reformation in 2010. He understands the vision that we are creating with the upcoming release. We think it’s an ideal partnership to produce the best “debut” CD that we can.

ATP
How are you paying for your recording?
FAR FROM SANITY
We are about to release a “crowd funding” campaign to help pay for the cost of producing this CD. Learn more. http://www.gofundme.com/thekardiacomplex

ATP
Will you have a producer or will you self-produce? If so, what kind of input will the producer have. If your self-producing, why?
FAR FROM SANITY
We are opening up to a producer. Again, we are using someone who is familiar with Far From Sanity…who we are and who we aren’t. He is familiar with areas that we may need a little tweaking but is also familiar with our strengths as artists. Our goal is to create the best music that we are capable of making. Sometimes…that means letting other people help with the creative process.

ATP
Will you try to capture your "live sound" or are you going for something else?
FAR FROM SANITY
LIVE all the way. We feel our live presence and its surrounding energy are some of our greatest strengths as a band. There is still a matter of what is called “studio art” of course. We want to keep the sound clean and deliver a great sounding product.

ATP
Does your record label have any input into the music you'll be recording?
FAR FROM SANITY
Yes, as we proceed in building a relationship with the label we’ve been working with, we understand it is a symbiotic approach in that our partnership is mutually beneficial. With that, they also have a vested stake in the final product that is released.

ATP
When can we expect the CD to be available?
FAR FROM SANITY
Barring any delays, the CD is scheduled to drop February 9, 2016.

ATP
Where will we be able to pick up a copy?
FAR FROM SANITY
Right now, we have been advised that most of the distribution will be done through most major electronic means, such as iTunes and Amazon, which is much more cost efficient than physical CD’s. But…we will have a small run of CD’s created that we will be making available locally and also from our Far From Sanity page storefront.

ATP
Will you be touring to promote your CD?
FAR FROM SANITY
Given today’s current economic and music climate, there will be no long term tours. If we do tour, it may be a short one week run. Our main focus will be on the festival circuits. There’s efficiency in PR when you can get a large group of people together solely for music. They may not know of you before the event but many are there to become fans of all the bands they see. It’s really a great way to connect with music fans and get the word out about your band.

ATP
Would rather be recording or playing live shows?
FAR FROM SANITY
Live shows ALL the way! Recording is a necessary evil and all part of the process but the stage is why most of us get into music in the first place. There’s such a great energy when you can connect with other people. That’s where memories are made.

ATP
Anything that you'd like to say to your fans while they wait for the album to come out?
FAR FROM SANITY
It sounds absolutely cliché but we could NOT do what we do without the fans that’ve supported us through the process. The supporters of the FFS camp have made what we are doing today possible. Our debut full length is certainly going to be dedicated to them. And…to all that have supported and continue to make all of this possible….there really are only two words that matter “THANK YOU”.
