What is the title of your upcoming CD? How did you come up with the name?
XANDER DEMOS
Guitarcadia. I wanted something that had Guitar in the title, but I also wanted something that reflected the sound I was putting down. Guitar + Arcadia = Guitarcadia.

ATP
Is this your first CD and if not, how is this one different from the others?
XANDER DEMOS
Yes, it is my first, other than the demo EP, Road to Guitarcadia, which was more or less a preview disc of the full length.

ATP
Did you write all the songs before going into the studio or did you write them as you were recording?
XANDER DEMOS
They were all written ahead of time. some, years before recording.

Walk us thru the process of writing your music?
XANDER DEMOS
Usually, I start while I’m noodling around on the guitar. I’ll come up with a cool riff, and if it sounds good, I’ll expand on it. Come up with the chord progressions and melodies to go with them. Finally, if the song has lyrics, the vocalist will usually bring those in.

ATP
Where did you record and why?
XANDER DEMOS
Shark’s Nest Studios, my own studio. It’s convenient and the price is right. It gives us the creative flexibility to not feel pressured to do everything all at once. We can live with the recordings and do more takes, if necessary. I can mess around with different production ideas easier, too. Mixing was done by CJ Snare of the band, Firehouse. He worked out of his own studio.

ATP
HHow did you pay for your recording?
XANDER DEMOS
Self-financed through blood, sweat and tears…the only way to do it.

ATP
Did you have a producer or did you self-produce? If so, what kind of input did the producer have. If your self-produced, why?
XANDER DEMOS
Self-produced.

ATP
Did you try to capture your "live sound" or did you go for something else?
XANDER DEMOS
Well, since the record was done before the live gigs, I would say we were going for something else. I just wanted to make an enjoyable album that showcased my playing styles. Shred-tastic gymnastics, with melody, style and attitude.

ATP
Did your record label have any input into the music you recorded?
XANDER DEMOS
No.

ATP
Are you pleased with the final product?
XANDER DEMOS
Absolutely.

ATP
Where will we be able to pick up a copy?
XANDER DEMOS
Itunes, amazon, and all the usual suspects, plus physical copies at www.xanderdemos.bigcartel.com

ATP
Will you be touring to promote your CD?
XANDER DEMOS
We have been, yes. Not sure how much more we will do, now that work has begun on a follow up album.

ATP
Would rather be recording or playing live shows?
XANDER DEMOS
Both, for different reasons. Probably live shows more, tho. You get more of that instant reaction and feedback. There’s nothing like getting on stage and melting some faces.

ATP
Anything you would like to say to your fans?
XANDER DEMOS
Thank you all so much for your support over the years. I’m really looking forward to putting out the next record, and I hope you all will love it. In the meantime, if you haven’t picked up “Guitarcadia” please check it out.
