Do you have a title for the upcoming cd?
DOWNFALL 2012
“Everyman For Himself: Issue 2”: We broke a record into three parts and tied a concept story and comic series to it. As the story began a vague, loose, general adaptation to your average story of conflict and journey to conclusion, it has developed into much more. Without a title, in the beginning, there was a main character named Mr. Everyman. The story evolved into a specific yet multi-meaning series about Mr. Everyman at war with the world around him as a result of an inner battle recognized more and more throughout the events within the story. The clever relation on the slogan “Every man for himself” seemed more than appropriate, and perfect really.

Is this your first CD and if not, how will this one be different from the others?
DOWNFALL 2012
This is the second of the series. This is not our first record, but is the first concept record. Having a sequential comic book with each release also sets it apart from our prior records. In addition to this, our recent sound and sonic quality is exceptionally refined and really exciting!

Have you written all the songs or will you be writing them as you record?
DOWNFALL 2012
All but one was written before studio time. However, like many artists, there was additional writing within each song through the recording process. “Behind the mirror” was written 100% in the studio, and oddly enough, not written together as a band. We each went into a session file and contributed our parts alone and separate from one another. It was an interesting approach we may consider in the future.

Walk us thru the process of writing your music?
DOWNFALL 2012
Generally (with some exception) Boo begins with a series of riffs and a skeletal structure. He and Casey will work together on solidifying parts and composing drum accompaniment. Once satisfied, they will show me (Danny). I will provide input on structure modification and fine-tuning. We will then record a rough instrumental track, which I will sit with for hours at a time listening to, writing, and formulating delegated vocal pieces for each of us. I will cut a demo alone and present it to Boo and Casey. If all is headed in the right direction, we re-demo with necessary modifications and each of our voices in place of my original takes. Then we either bring it to the stage, studio, or both!

Where will you be recording and why?
DOWNFALL 2012
We recorded mostly at Jim Finley Productions (CA,TX), Sound Arts with Brian Baker (Houston, TX) and some in our personal studio (WoBro Studios). Jim and Brian are an amazing team. The sonic quality and creativity is like no other team we’ve worked with.

How are you paying for your recording?
DOWNFALL 2012
With money. Haha (we did get a lot of help from our friends/fans/families through feedthemuse.net/downfall2012)

Will you have a producer or will you self-produce? If so, what kind of input will the producer have. If your self-producing, why?
DOWNFALL 2012
Jim Finley produced this record. He provides insight on arrangement, general sonic quality, recording techniques, additional production (synth, loops, sounds) etc. The guy really knows his stuff, and has been able to help us obtain the sound, the feeling, and the recording quality we have been hoping to find since day one

Will you try to capture your "live sound" or are you going for something else?
DOWNFALL 2012
Yes, to a degree, however, we did not obsess on trying to make it sound like a live record. We are all fans of coloring the sounds and adding noises and soundscapes to help shape the feeling and project the real creative meaning behind each song. Ironically we have been finding specific ways to introduce some of those components to our live show and it has really added to what we do on stage.

Would rather be recording or playing live shows?
DOWNFALL 2012
Me personally (Danny) live shows all the way. However, I think Boo and Casey have equal love for the studio
