What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
BRUTALODY
We are Brutalody. It's a play on the words "Brutal Melody" because that's exactly what are music is, brutal yet melodic heavy metal. It started as a joke actually, I made a remark to Richard (guitars) that we should call the band Brutal Melody, he laughed and said "Brutalody" and we were like "hey, wait a minute...." It took me a few days to convince the other guys but the name stuck.

How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?
BRUTALODY
Our name describes our sound perfectly. We are all classically trained musicians and our music definitely reflects it. We don't just write technically for the sake of being technical, we write with a depth of emotion that people are latching on to. The reviews that we've had of our new EP are glowing and people are definitely taking notice.

ATP
What bands have influenced each of you?
BRUTALODY
We are really influenced by a wide variety of musicians and genres, it would be too time consuming to list them here. We incorporate and appreciate all of the main genres of metal: Power, Black, Death, Thrash.

ATP
How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
BRUTALODY
We are no strangers to the stage. We've only been a band about a year now but we've been playing heavily for the past 6 months getting our name out there, and are ready to expand to other markets and opportunities.

ATP
How would you describe your shows?
BRUTALODY
Our shows are great, we pride ourselves on playing perfectly and I think that your live show should sound as close to the recordings as possible. It's a great time, we shred our hearts out and then party with our fans and friends afterward in to the wee hours. We are all about hanging out and having fun, fuck the stuck up attitude some bands have. We love playing shows because we get to chill with so many cool people.

Tell us about your favorite show and why?
BRUTALODY
My favorite show so far is going to be the show coming up next Friday. We are playing one of our favorite venues in Dallas for the first time as a band and we are gonna have the set recorded for a little live video thing we are doing.

Tell us about your worst show and why?

ATP
Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?
BRUTALODY

ATP
What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
BRUTALODY
We plan to become an international band. In 1 year we would like to have released our first full length album and score a record deal with one of the major players in Metal. In 5 years we hope to be a household name and touring all over the place. We are in it for the long haul, this is what we were all born to do. It's great because we are all really good friends. I can't see the lineup changing at all.

ATP
Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
BRUTALODY
Arm the Pit is a great idea and we look forward to it turning into a significant movement in the Metal world and beyond. These days it is more difficult than ever for artists that you love and enjoy to get their music heard, so it's awesome when fans take action and help spread the music that makes them happy. We dig.
