What is the title of your upcoming CD? How did you come up with the name?
ACID AGE
Hey there, the new album is called Drone Shark Ethics, we have had a couple of releases but the 2013 mini-album Enter The Zomborg is the first of a three part trilogy about our mascot Lilo who is a cyborg prince of thrash from another planet. We are working on part three at the minute. Lilo will face his greatest opponent yet. I love shows like The Twilight Zone, Rod Sterling is a real hero of mine, as is Gene Roddenbury (Creator of Star Trek) and Lloyd Kauffman (Creator of the Toxic Avenger series) So I want to write sci-fi thrash metal, it's not original in the least but it sure is a lot of fun!

ATP
Is this your first CD and if not, how is this one different from the others?
ACID AGE
It's different in good ways, it's faster, a little bit more raw and is a good refection of the lyrical content.
It's like Sci-Fi crust punk topics with obnoxiously fast guitar shredding, jazz wizardry bass playing and good ol double kick blast beats!

ATP
Did you write all the songs before going into the studio or did you write them as you were recording?
ACID AGE
We had the songs well written before we went into the studio, myself and our bassist Jake are constantly writing songs. Usually in the middle of the night!

ATP
Walk us thru the process of writing your music?
ACID AGE
Well, me and Jake will watch some OTT movie (usually gore or Sci-Fi or a classic Bruce Lee flick) and then we'll plug the guitar and bass in and just jam like two insomniacs all through the night, we'll occasionally stop for a cup of coffee or a pizza, then we'll bring the songs to the jam shack so Luke (drummer) and Eddie (our NEW vocalist) can add ideas and improve them, it's a total band effort here, it's gotta be that way for Acid Age.

ATP
Where did you record and why?
ACID AGE
We actually recorded the drums at the home of 70s Punk legend Buck from The Defects and then we did the rest at either Jake's house or Luke's depending on where our gigs were during the week.

ATP
HHow did you pay for your recording?
ACID AGE
We were on a serious shoe-string budget, but thanks to Buck Defect and the lovely people at Sonar it didn't cost that much, we pulled it off for about $400

ATP
Did you have a producer or did you self-produce? If so, what kind of input did the producer have. If your self-produced, why?
ACID AGE
I produced it myself (with some input from Jake and Luke) because as I said our budget was not powerful and we also really wanted it to sound raw and un-glossy like the first Venom album and Sodoms In the Sign of Evil.
I listen to a lot of crust and grindcore and that's all about the feel and vibe of the band more so than the production.
I must admit I am proud of the production, it sounds wild and unlike any album I've ever heard because it sounds like it's gonna derail at any minute.

ATP
Did you try to capture your "live sound" or did you go for something else?
ACID AGE
Live of course! Listen to albums like Funhouse by the Stooges, the vibe is so authentic, I'd like to hear more young bands take that on-board.

ATP
Did your record label have any input into the music you recorded?
ACID AGE
Honestly Witches Brew let us do whatever we wanted, Cheryl and Sigfrith were fantastic and treat us like gold, but you know next time I actually want them to be more involved with things like suggestions because they know their thrash, death and black metal better than anyone. They are fantastic people!

ATP
Are you pleased with the final product?
ACID AGE
OH HELL YEAH! I love it! It has got some lethal reviews. We have only had one bad review so far and it was from a site that likes bands like Mastadon and Orange Goblin... What does that tell you?

ATP
Where will we be able to pick up a copy?
ACID AGE
www.witchesbrewthrashes.eu or give us a shout on facebook www.facebook.com/acidagethrash

ATP
Will you be touring to promote your CD?
ACID AGE
Of course, we have all our UK dates confirmed and we are waiting to hear about the Europe dates. I am so excited about that. We start touring at the end of Jan 2015.

ATP
Would rather be recording or playing live shows?
ACID AGE
I love it all! It's all part of the fun! I love playing shows when the crowd are wild but it's fun to hear your own music recorded too!

ATP
Anything you would like to say to your fans?
ACID AGE
We don't call them fans, they are more like friends. They have been so good to us. We call them "Zomborgs" but if you want me to say something... Thank you all, you are the fucking best and we hope to see you all at a show real soon!
