What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
9INE FOOT SQUIRREL
9ine foot squirrel, the name was born out of a late night conversation watching goodfellas with my old band Bleach some 18 years ago, we thought it would be funny if a giant mutated squirrel worked for the mob as a hitman, so I wrote a song about it, my sons liked it so we decided to use it for our band name.

So who's in the band and what instruments do you each play?

I'm Joe, I play bass and sing, My oldest son Austin , who is 16 plays guitar and my son Jason who is 9 plays the drums.

How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?
9INE FOOT SQUIRREL
Stripped down, straight forward rock/alternative/punk. I think the fact that we are a family band makes us unique. We just get on stage and blast out our set, for me being able to share my love for music with my boys is the best part of it all, and jamming live is awesome too, nothing like finishing a song you wrote with your sons and hear the crowd clap and whistle, nothing like it!

Tell us about your favorite show and why?

there are two, first is Hillside Sessions in Garden City Kansas, a two day festival with 20 bands, was a total blast, all the bands were cool and the people who held the festival were some of the coolest people we've ever met.2nd was in Garden City Kansas, We opened for King Shifter right after they were signed to Pavement records. awesome crowd and awesome band!

Tell us about your worst show and why?
9INE FOOT SQUIRREL
We were invited to play a fall festival, which turned out to be a craft fair in a church auditorium . you can imagine how that went LOL

Tell Us About Your Dream Show, who you'd like to play with and where?
9INE FOOT SQUIRREL
warped tour, the LA strip, would like to play with Chris Holmes from WASP, he is the reason I got into music all those years ago.

What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?

to keep writing music, playing gigs, networking with bands and get a record deal and tour all over the world.

Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?

It means alot , exposure is not an easy thing to come by and ATP is doing a great job of getting unknown artists the exposure they need.
